The Lumo Light Festival, organised by the City of Oulu, once again drew large crowds to enjoy light art from 21–23 November. Not even Saturday’s snowstorm stopped festival-goers from heading out.

The estimated number of visitors over the festival weekend is around 90,000. The wider festival area this year made it easier for people to move around, and no major bottlenecks were formed.

Next year, thanks to the European Capital of Culture programme, November will see the launch of the broader Lumo Art & Tech event series. The ten-day programme, running from 13–22 November, will feature content exploring art and technology from various perspectives and organised by multiple partners. The series will conclude with the Lumo Light Festival, held on 19–22 November 2026.
