The City of Oulu is organising the Lumo Light Festival this coming weekend from Friday to Sunday, 21–23 November. The festival’s installations are located in the city centre, Hupisaaret Park, Lammassaari, Linnansaari, Raatinsaari, and Pikisaari. Admission to the event is free. Some of the works are located indoors, and there may be queues to see them. The public is asked to be patient and take it easy in case of crowds.

The Lumo Light Festival is expected to attract large crowds again this year. Street maintenance will be intensified during the festival if necessary.

Walk, cycle, or use public transport to get to the festival

As the Lumo Light Festival will once again attract large numbers of visitors to the centre of Oulu, the city recommends coming on foot, by bike, or by public transport if possible. The info section of the Lumo website has a map of nearby bike parks and bus stops.

For car parking, we recommend using the city centre parking facilities or leaving your car a little further away from the centre.

Changes to traffic and parking

The Lumo Festival will cause changes to traffic and parking in the Oulu city centre area. The car park at Kirkkokatu 9 will be closed between 8 p.m. on November 17 and 8 p.m. on November 24, 2025. Half of the car park at the marina at Raatintie 3 will be closed between 8 p.m. on November 18 and 8 p.m. on November 24, 2025.
