Juan Kasari’s works are large abstract colour surfaces that avoid both figurative expression and narrative. They are also in a constant state of flux. Artificial and natural light, layers of overlapping video projections and the presence of the viewer all play with the space and the works, creating new and changing meanings.
Kasari’s works are based on Mondrian’s idea of pure beauty, devoid of figurative or narrative content. The projections use primary colours and their combinations.
Artist: Juan Kasari, Master of Fine Arts from the time and space study programme at the Academy of Fine Arts, is a visual artist living and working in Helsinki.
