Unknown Senses opens a gateway to an invisible world where the vibrations, sounds, and movements of nature intertwine. The vibration revealed beneath the silence travels through the trees, trembles on the skin, and reminds us of our connection to the natural world around us.
In this work, the boundary between humans and nature begins to blur, and our familiar senses open to new perceptions. Perhaps what we experience as reality is just one frequency amongst many, and this work offers a chance to glimpse beyond them for a moment.
Unknown Senses is the fourth instalment in the series The Connection, in which Marko Häkkinen explores the connections between humans, nature, and the universe in various ways.
Häkkinen is a Finnish sound and lighting designer who has worked with international artists and events throughout his career.
The piece is performed twice an hour.
